- In Guacamelee! 2, there is a framed picture resembling the painting leading to Tall, Tall Mountain from Super Mario 64 (pictured).
- Bianco Hills is the only main course in Super Mario Sunshine where all 30 of its Blue Coins can be collected in a single episode.
- In Virtual Boy Wario Land, "Totaka's Song" plays on the end screen that appears following the credits after 1 minute and 15 seconds.
- The pre-release box art for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker features a Cat Bullet Bill, an enemy that does not appear in the game.
