- Cactuar's design in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix (pictured) has a unique design where its limbs are segmented.
- The segment of the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze level Windmill Hills where the player travels through the interior of a giant windmill is an homage to the Clock Tower levels from the Castlevania series.
- In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Peachette's voice occasionally reverts to Toadette's when performing a Triple Jump.
- A glitch in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island allows the player to warp to the level Make Eggs, Throw Eggs from another level.
