They also appear in bonus levels, where they can contain three [[1-Up Mushroom]]s or one of the game's three Suits (the [[Tanooki Suit|Tanooki]], [[Frog Suit|Frog]], and [[Hammer Suit]]s).

While they could not be tail-whipped at all in the NES and ''[[Super Mario All-Stars]]'' versions, ''[[Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3]]'' allows [[Raccoon Mario|Raccoon]] or [[Tanooki Mario]] to tail-whip Mega ? Blocks in normal courses.

Mega ? Blocks are only found in [[Toad House|Orange Toad House]]s in ''[[New Super Mario Bros.]]'', where they give [[Mario]] or [[Luigi]] a [[Mega Mushroom]].

Mega ? Blocks return in ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]''. They appear in [[Jungle of the Giants]], [[Bridge over Poisoned Waters]], and [[Snake Block Tower]].

In ''[[New Super Luigi U]]'', they are found in [[Giant Swing-Along]], [[Heart of Bramball Woods]], [[Stone-Snake Tower]], [[Wiggler Floodlands]], and [[Para-Beetle Parade]].

In ''[[Super Mario 3D World]]'' and [[Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury|its port]], Mega ? Blocks appear in [[Bowser's Bob-omb Brigade]] and [[Super Block Land]], though unlike in previous appearances, the question mark is the same size as those seen on regular-sized ? Blocks. When hit, multiple giant [[Empty Block]]s extend out of it (similar to [[Face block (platform)|face block]]s from ''[[Super Mario 3D Land]]''), allowing the player to reach otherwise unreachable areas.

In the ''Bowser's Fury'' mode, these blocks are also used to scale [[Clawswipe Colosseum]] after defeating Cat [[Boom Boom]] and Cat [[Pom Pom]] once.

In ''[[Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3]]'', Mega ? Blocks are located in hidden areas and contain a [[100-Coin|100 Coin]]. They share the same face design as the game's version of ? Blocks.
