A Random Block, also known as a Wide Block,[1] is a type of block found in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. When hit, it releases a coin and either turns red and displays an M, signaling for Mario to hit it, or turns green and displays an L, signaling for Luigi to hit it. If the correct brother hits the block, another coin is released. It is random whether it changes between colors or stays the same color once hit. Eventually, the Random Block turns into an Empty Block. In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, it is yellow with a dark-yellow question mark in a white circle. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, Random Blocks do not add to the total block counter.
