The
Island Museum (also known as simply the
museum) is a gallery of enemies in
Yoshi's Island DS. It can be accessed by entering the museum tab on the map screen in Adventure Mode. The color of
Yoshi that enters here is green, and the baby being mounted is
Baby Mario. The museum is first represented by a central hub area, where Yoshi can hit a
Message Block welcoming players to the museum. This hub is populated by various areas of interest, including several underfoot
pipes, passageways on the edges of the map, enter-able huts, a purple
Paddle Platform, and a small
Spring Ball that helps Yoshi navigate. These lead Yoshi to one of the many exhibits. Whenever Yoshi hits an enemy with an egg, its species appear here. The enemies are separated from visitors by walls and other means, and enemies are grouped based on type. This is similar to the
gallery in
Luigi's Mansion, or to a
bestiary. Some enemies can come out of their exhibit, but they do not harm Yoshi, while Yoshi can defeat a few enemies, such as a
Bungee Piranha and the
Gobblins. Enemies that can be stunned with a
Ground Pound use
posts to indicate it. Each exhibit contains a Message Block that explains what area Yoshi is currently in.
