The '''Frost Tour''' was the fiftieth tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on August 11, 2021 and ended on August 24, 2021. This tour introduced a new [[remix course]] based on the [[Vanilla Lake]] tracks from ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' named [[RMX Vanilla Lake 1]], being the first tour to introduce a new remix course since the [[Peach vs. Daisy Tour]] thirteen tours prior, as well as introducing [[Penguin Mario]] from ''[[New Super Mario Bros. Wii]]'' as a new driver, while also bringing back Penguin Luigi and Penguin Toad on the second spotlight pipe since their last pipe appearance together in the [[Snow Tour]]. It is also the first tour since the [[Trick Tour (2021)|2021 Trick Tour]] to not include any new gliders, though like that tour, it introduced a new [[Dozer Dasher]] variant, the [[Ice Dozer]], as the only new kart. Additionally the [[#2-Player Challenge|2-Player Challenge]], which was previously on the [[Mario Tour (2021)|2021 Mario Tour]] and the [[Wedding Tour]], made a return.

Despite the Summertime Celebration event ending on the previous tour, the [[Mario vs. Peach Tour]], the event-exclusive better [[#Rewards|rewards]] and [[#Challenges|Tour Multiplayer Challenges]] are being permanently added from this tour onwards.

This tour's [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]] course is RMX Vanilla Lake 1, which makes this tour the first non-city tour to not reuse a Coin Rush course since the Snow Tour twelve tours prior. The menu's background features the icy hills from the [[Vanilla Lake]] courses as the landmark of this tour. This tour's trailer featured the background encased in ice during its opening splash screen.

Starting from this tour, the [[Manta Glider]] is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

==Today's Challenge==
Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favourite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in [[3DS Mario Circuit]] in the [[Fire Bro Cup]] using [[Peachette]] for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
