1. InfectedShroom.Great Article.
2. Stumpers! Regardless of nit-picking about his importance, it's a great article that encapsulates both the large and small points about this character. Much higher quality than some featured articles, not to name names.

4. Pokémon DP I don't care if he "isn't important enough" to be featured. That's a huge load of BS to me. The article is great, its layout is perfect, it gives the information it needs, it explains his motives, his operatives, how he fights, his personality. The only thing people have said to oppose this article for FA, is that he isn't important enough... BLASPHEMY!!
5. <<< Knife, you're a Featured Articles/N/Smithy 16:21, 2 June 2008 (EDT) He is FA material, good content for a character that appeared in one game.
6. Goomb-omb (Talk)The fact that he only appeared in one game is unimportant, as King K. Rool hasn't appeared in any Mario game and was featured. Also, Smithy paved the way for future RPG bosses like Shadow Queen, so he is important. The article is well put-together and really does justice to a character that was only at the end of the game.
7. Ultimatetoad I bet it could be longer, though.....
8. Glitchman (Talk) I think it's well-written and complete, since he's only appeared in one game there's not much more information that could be added. Definitely worthy of featured-article status, especially since some idiot decided that Deanna Mustard's page was good enough...
9. Pikax (talk) The article is very detailed, very tidy and, contrary to ForeverDaisy09's oppose vote, not too short.
10. KingNess700 (Talk) He was the final boss of his own game. In that respect he deserves the title

1. Garlic Man - It should include more info about Smithy and his history. EDIT: What I meant by this, is; From what point in the game did he join the plot? Was he always the "Main Villain", or unexpected, like Dimentio in SPM? Also, shouldn't the head types in the boss battle be capitazlized? Is there any reason why Smithy invaded? Or, just 'cause he felt like it? Under "Weapons and Wishes", it never explains what happened to star piece Three and Four. I hope that clarified my oppose a bit.

What is lackluster in this article? You can't just come and say "This article isn't the best.", you also have to provide good reasons so the supporters can fix it. Glowsquid

I don't think that those reasons are good enough. 1) How can we expand it any more? 2) One game is not enough. We have had a few games themselves become FA's and I'm relatively sure that those games are only one game. InfectedShroom.

I gotta agree with the above discussion. The events of SMRPG may revolves around Smithy action, but he do little other than being fought at the end of the game. This is cracked... you might as well just put a template on top of 80% of the Wiki's main articles that says, "This article cannot be featured because its subject is not prominent enough for [insert user(s) here] to consider it." Okay, Stumpers, when you say "What more does Garlic want?" I say the article is too short, period. That was the reason Super Mario 64 wasn't nominated, remember? One oppose from Cobold, saying "It's too short". :/ Garlic Man

You're right about that. I think that Cobold's vote was invalid too, though. The basic point of oppose votes is to tell the supporters what is wrong in the article and where something needs to be changed/added/removed. "Too short" doesn't help. Time Questions 04:58, 28 May 2008 (EDT)

Character count does not matter. It must include the maximum information possible. Using big words increases character count too. Its about the quality of the quantity. Also, can we remove Ultimatetoad's support? It's ridiculous...Garlic Man

Garlic Man isn't completely wrong, the rules once indeed said that Spiny Shroopa can't get featured, because it's too short. There was a proposal, however, to replace this rule, introducing the character count criterium. Time Questions 15:57, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

The reason I say we should remove that vote, is because it's like saying "Well I guess it could be better..." with no reason accompanying it. Actually, now that I look at it, its weird that it's a support vote, but whatever, I guess it can stay. And so can fan votes? Garlic Man

I see your point; you shouldn't support a nomination if you think the article could be better. Still, the current system says to keep any support votes (which I think is good, by the way). See here for the most recent proposal regarding this. Time Questions 11:43, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

Garlic Man, the reason there was no information regarding the third and fourth Star Pieces is because Smithy's gang didn't recover those. I have inserted information regarding those Star Pieces though. Also, Smithy was always the main villain of the game, although beginning players would most likely mistake Exor for Smithy.
