In this event, the player starts by swinging the Wii Remote when "Go!" appears onscreen, with a perfectly timed swing giving the player a starting dash and an early one resulting in a foul and the event being started over. Once the character begins skating, the player can accelerate by shaking the Wii Remote left and right, with higher acceleration being achieved by faster shaking. When the character approaches a turn, the player must tilt the Wii Remote to the left to turn the corner, and should aim to stay in the green ideal cornering area. Doing so will give the character a speed boost. When the character approaches the next straight section of the track, the player can stop tilting and should shake the Wii Remote again to accelerate. If the player stops turning at the right time, the character will receive a speed boost when they stop cornering.
