A Cricket Pie is a delicious-looking pie made from crickets. During the events of Super Mario RPG, Frogfucius sent his “grandson†Mallow to the Mushroom Kingdom Item Shop to purchase the pie for one Rare Frog Coin. However, while on the way to the shop, the coin was stolen by the greedy thief Croco. Ultimately, Mallow teams up with the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, and together they recover the Rare Frog Coin from Croco.
After the Mushroom Kingdom is liberated from the Smithy Gang, Mallow is able to purchase the pie and return to Tadpole Pond. When Mallow gives the Cricket Pie to Frogfucius, the ball of fluff receives his first weapon, the Froggie Stick.
