Munchers are spider enemies that appear in the Wii game, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and later Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are relatives to another species of spiders, Skittlers. Munchers are black spiders that appear in massive groups. Their only appearance is the Forest level, Muncher Marathon. In this level, they chase Donkey and Diddy Kong after they break open their eggs. They will not stop pursuing them until end of the level. When moving towards the Kongs, a screech from them can be heard. If the Kongs make contact with these arachnids, they will hurt them and lose a heart. Munchers are indestructible, meaning there is no way to defeat them.
