  • The Weird Mushroom has the same coloration as the 1-Up Mushrooms in later games.
  • The Weird Mushroom has a slight resemblance to the Mid Mushroom, found in the same game, which Mario and his party use later in the game. It even uses the same sprite as the Mid Mushroom.
