Mainz is the capital city of one of Germany's states, Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as the birthplace and home of Johann Gutenberg. In 1455, Gutenberg neared completion of his printing press when Bowser time travels to the city and steals one of the Metal Types used in Gutenberg's invention.
