A Pointey[1] is a horsetail-like creature that appears in Yoshi's Island DS. Pointeys do not harm the player, though they serve as obstacles as they extend from the ground to block the player's way and bounce them away if they touch one. They can be extremely tall or very short, and they can be defeated by a single jump, an egg, or Baby Donkey Kong's DK Dash Attack. They debut in the level Hit the M Blocks! According to a Message Block, they grow in the fields during spring.
