Tapering platforms[1] are solid objects that appear in the Magma Swamp sub-areas of the Luncheon Kingdom and the Dark Side in Super Mario Odyssey. The center of each tapering platform is higher than the rest of the platform, and every few seconds, these platforms sink into lava, making only the center of them safe, before rising back up. Some tapering platforms contain Fire Piranha Plants and Moon Shards, which also move with them. The bottom part of these platforms is green.
