It can be reached by riding the [[magic carpet]] to the right of the course's starting point, then riding the carpet to the right of the spinning [[platform]]s, and then riding the carpet to the left at the end of the second carpet's path. Once at the Rainbow Cruiser, the player must [[jump]] over platforms and [[Donut Block|Falling Block]]s to climb onto it. A heavy [[wind]] blows through the ship, pushing the player to its stern. Two [[Bob-omb]]s (one replaced by a [[Goomba]] in the DS version) and a [[Lakitu]] are on the deck, and a [[cannon]] is on the stern. The [[Power Star]] for the first mission, [[Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow]], is on the ship's bow. A [[1-Up Mushroom|1-UP Mushroom]] can be found on the tip of the bowsprit.
