Pendulum Platforms (also referred to as Pendulum Lifts[1] or swinging platforms[2]) are a type of platform found in the New Super Mario Bros. sub-series.

History

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Pendulum Platforms first appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They are chained red platforms that sway from side to side indefinitely, and they appear only in World 1-Tower.

Pendulum Platforms return in New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, exhibiting exactly the same behavior as in New Super Mario Bros.
