-The games were generally released in a 2-4 year gap between each other, but in October 2019, less than a year after their final game in the series was released, AlphaDream filed for bankruptcy due to the commercial failure of their two remakes and the increased development cost of their games resulting in a 465 milion yens debt, the equivalent of a near 4 milion dollar debt. Even though the ''Mario & Luigi'' series celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, there have been no news about it or a new developer succeeding AlphaDream, and eight years after their final original game in the series and five years after it went bankrupt, its future remains uncertain.
