Chansey is a Normal-type Pokémon first appearing in Pokémon Red and Green Versions (Red and Blue Versions outside Japan). As of Generation IV, Chansey evolves from Happiny when leveled up while holding an Oval Stone during the day and starting from generation 2, evolves into Blissey with high friendship.

In Super Smash Bros., Chancey is both a Poké Ball Pokémon and one of the Pokémon that can show up on the Saffron City stage. In both instances that it can appear, it uses its signature move Soft-Boiled, in which it drops eggs that can either contain items, heal the player (only when released from a Poké Ball), or explode. Additionally, when it appears on Saffron City, Chansey can heal the player by touching it.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Chansey appears as a Poké Ball Pokémon. It once again uses Soft-Boiled to drop eggs that can either contain items, heal, or explode. It can also be attacked to knock it off-screen. Chansey also appears as one of the floats on the Poké Floats stage.
