Elegy is a status attack used by certain monsters such as the Hobgoblin, and the Reacher in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It causes Mute on a singal party member. When Elegy is used, small, glowing music notes begin appearing and start floating on screen, and Mute symbols descending on the character, making them look lethargic and unable to use special moves.
