The List of implied species is a list of species that have not physically appeared in any form of media up to this point in time. Regardless of their lack of appearances, the implied species have been mentioned at least once throughout the Super Mario series.

Burpin' beetle

Main article: Beetle

Burpin' beetles are a species referenced by Grubba in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Mario and his party were spying on Grubba through the air vent above his office. Discussing what they heard, Grubba cried out, fearful that he had been heard. The player was given the options to make a squeak, meow, or burp. Should the player chose the third option, Grubba would be relieved, believing that he had overheard a burpin' beetle in his air vent rather than a person.

It is possible that burpin' beetle's aren't a distinct species, and that Grubba simply meant he had heard a beetle with flatulence. Additionally, based on Grubba's accent and speech patterns, the proper name for the species could be "burping beetle."

Business Bro.

Business Bros. are a species related to Hammer Bros. referenced in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The only known Business Bro. is Hamma Jamma's father. When talking to Mario, Hamma Jamma revealed that becoming a Business Bro. instead of a Hammer Bro. would have been a responsible but "lame" decision.

Donkey

Donkeys are a non-fictional species of animal referenced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. When Baby Bowser first saw Yoshi, he asked whether he was a donkey and declared his desire to ride him as though he were one.

Sea turtles

Sea turtles were mentioned in the Super Mario Bros. film when Luigi was driving with Mario to a plumbing job. When Luigi made a right turn instead of a left based on his feelings, much to Mario's annoyance, he justified his decision by saying he had read that seas turtles navigate thousands of miles on instinct. Mario retorted that they did not do that in Brooklyn traffic.
