Bobo's appearance in Wario Land 2.

Bobo is a giant bird and the ship's guard of the Black Sugar Gang. He appears as the fifth and second boss in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land and Wario Land II, respectively. Both times he is the boss of the S.S. Teacup stage. Bobo has giant, clawed feet and sharp fangs inside his beak, which are used to rid Wario of his coins in Wario Land II and hurt him directly in the original Wario Land. Bobo makes wind come up from the ground which flies Wario upwards. In both games, Bobo is defeated by being jumped on five times.

Trivia

  • Bobo was first named in Volume 11 of Super Mario-Kun.
  • Bobo is the only individual crew member besides Captain Syrup who appears in Wario Land and Wario Land II. He seems to be of higher rank than the average member, because he is the guard of the S.S. Teacup.
  • Bobo and Krow shared similarities in that both were birds who guarded pirate ships.
  • The name Bobo appears in the Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour score chart. It is not known if it is reference to the Wario Land boss.
