They look like a blue mushroom inside a blue square, and are the equivalent of ">>" mark cool zones<ref>[https://www.nintendo.co.jp/clv/manuals/en/pdf/CLV-P-NAAHE.pdf ''Excitebike'' NES instruction booklet], pages 6 and 9.</ref> from the original ''{{wp|Excitebike}}''. Kinoko marks are not solid, and riding on them increases the TEMP meter.

A different type of this object also appears, which looks like a regular blue mushroom without a square. When a player rides over it, it turns into a regular kinoko mark.
