They only appear in the [[Conquering the Summit]] mission in the [[Freezeflame Galaxy]]. These enemies act similar to their ordinary counterparts, and attack by freezing [[Mario]] or [[Luigi]] when he collides with them. When the player goes into their territory, they charge at the player to damage them. Ice bats can only be defeated by [[Fire Mario]] in the game. [[Ice Mario (Super Mario Galaxy)|Ice Mario]] is also able to defeat ice bats by [[spin]]ning or [[stomp]]ing. When they freeze Mario or Luigi, they taunt or laugh at them when they get frostbitten. However, spinning can make them back away.
