PS: On the topic of renames, many objects seem to have inconsistent naming conventions. Feranogame (talk) 23:44, February 16, 2025 (EST)
PS: On the topic of renames, many objects seem to have inconsistent naming conventions such as the apparently random switching of Block (as in "Rock Block") and block (as in "Icy block"). Standardizing these might be a worthy effort. Feranogame (talk) 23:44, February 16, 2025 (EST)
:I do not feel comfortable employing that. "Lifting Bubble" does not clearly communicate what the object is in the way its name in Japanese presumably does for players who speak it. And pipes often have fun or unusual names, like Inchworm Pipe or Sinkin' Pipe, so we do not have reasonable ground to make a deduction.

:Because the people who made the game speak Japanese, it is a more earnest reflection of these games to simply present subjects within them with Romanizations. This is not uncommon in reference material on Japanese subjects aimed for an English-speaking audience. It is not a big deal. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:48, February 15, 2025 (EST)

::I don't get the second point considering the wiki guidelines of "Derived names take precedent over development and non-English names when those derived names are built upon a strong enough foundation, on a case-by-case basis". As for the first, the "Lifting Bubble" is a very literal translation of the Japanese term, besides that one possibly implying that these are soap bubbles (a fact not reflected in any other bubble translations). I added additional clarification for the pipe which shows that an equivalent translation has already been applied to "Pushable Walls". Edit: I should clarify these two comments were made when only the "Lifting Shabon" and "Oseru Dokan" were in "Additional Derived Name Suggestions" to prevent future confusion. - Feranogame (talk) 23:57, February 16, 2025 (EST)
