mUndo revision 4297333 by Starluxe (talk) - refer to edit summaries. The 8-bit and 16-bit games released simultaneously in most regions according to contemporary sources. It somehow became "common knowledge" that the 8-bit version released first, but in general, the internet cateloged video game release dates poorly. MS -might- be first if an old "Latin America" (previously mistaken for Europe) source can be cited.

(It's also likely that it was a simultaneous release all along and there is no "first" version.)

It's contested right now which version released first. The sources cited by Sega Retro point to a 92.11.21 JP GG release predating the 92.11.24 UK MS/GG release; however, a Sonic Jam chronicle feature claims a 92.10.25 MS date for Latin America. Issues: 1) broad, 2) Jam also includes a vague 92.10 EU GG date, and 3) not yet corroborated by an outside source. For now, erring on the side of caution.

Didn’t realise there was a category for this already, so I redirected it to the other category.
