The 'Shroom:Issue 230/The 'Shroom Spotlight
The 'Shroom Spotlight
Written by: RHG1951 (talk) and Technetium (talk)
Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
The forecast this month looks to be rather cloudy from all of the hubbub around Lakituthequick's 100-issue milestone. Lakitus' main mode of transportation are clouds, after all. But it seems these clouds are made of articles in the wiki's various maintenance categories. So, you can help make the sky bright and sunny again by fixing them up so they're right as rain, ironically enough. Before that, let's discuss the coverage of the previous month.
It certainly wasn't a hazy performance with how many focuses were completed. Power Flotzo (talk) worked it on out by creating Twisten Sprout, Yoshi18 (talk) found that images of both the Silver Dice Block and Bronze Dice Block from Mario Party: Star Rush were already on the wiki and added them to their respective articles, Spencer PK (talk) showed us a humerus situation by adding pictures to Funny Bone, and SuperGamer18 (talk) left our mouths ajar by uploading a replacement for File:Super Smash Bros vase.jpg. While the last uncited release date for Super Mario Galaxy 2 is still up in the air, FluffyGuardian70 (talk) did find a citation for New Super Mario Bros. Wii's instance of the date. Similarly, progress for Game Start (Donkey Kong) did not precipitate much, but BMfan08 (talk) and SUPEDUPEmario (talk) did add media files to the article.
And now onto this month's focuses:
| Article | Category | Focuses |
|---|---|---|
| To keep coverage of Meetup in Bellabel Park in tip-top shape, we need you to make the article for this VS attraction. The word "fast" may be in the name, but you can take as much time as you need to complete it. | ||
| It's the 2nd anniversary of the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake! To celebrate, let's give the stage to Madame Flurrie, the wind spirit. Her page is missing remake website descriptions in other languages. No need to rehearse; you can find the links and format on Goombella's page. And if you're really feeling the role, the other partners, alongside the Three Shadows and X-Nauts, also need their descriptions added. | ||
| It's time to partake in some cloudspotting, particularly in Sunshine, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2. Find out how Cloud Lifts work in these games to give this article a lift. | ||
| No, it's not a cloud formation in the shape of Luigi, you're thinking of Aunt Maria from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. Instead, it's Luigi's down-special from the Super Smash Bros. games. Get some pictures of its appearance in 64 and Ultimate to put us on Cloud 9. | ||
| Not to go "old man yells at cloud" on you, but this is really one case where it's warranted. Surely there's some other shot in the film that better shows a Cloud Block. | ||
| Admittedly, this lightning comes from Item Boxes, but we won't let this distinction cloud our judgement. Are Peach, Wario, and Bowser the only CPUs who can obtain Lightning in Mario Kart: Super Circuit? |
Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 50 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2024, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
