Wario Stadium is set to return in Mario Kart 8 as the first course of the Leaf Cup. This course is the first and currently the only Wario course to appear as a Retro Course. The course was upgraded to use the new gameplay mechanics of Mario Kart 8. For example, instead of continuing down the dirt path, the player races sideways on a giant tower in an anti-gravity section. Soon after, racers will encounter a newly made underwater section, which is then followed by a gliding section that lasts until the finish line. The other major changes are a statue of Wario is added to the course and the type of day has been changed | Wario Stadium is set to return in Mario Kart 8 as the first course of the Leaf Cup.
