Altough I'm born in 1996, I actually started with the [[Nintendo DS]] and [[Super Mario 64 DS|Mario 64]] and [[Mario Kart DS]] as my first Mario games, for a well known reason: my parents, who didn't wanted me to play video games - but, that was quite lucky for me, they made their mistake and gave me a Nintendo DS - which was enough for me to become addicted to the [[Mario]] series. Since then I've played most Mario core games and built up my own Nintendo collection, from Super Mario Bros. on the NES up to Mario Kart 8D on the Switch.

|A decent 2D game, with new content and good level design. Just like the Wii game, it is best to be played in multiplayer mode. While the gamepad mode can be boring, it is also fun to play antagonistic and make the other players lose their lives due to nasty platform placement.

|Completed the game for 5 twinkling stars.

|The racing modes are the sames as in the Wii U version, but the battle mode got a big improvement, making it one of the best battle mode implementations in the series. Also, the roster got some crucial characters added like King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr.
