The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.
The Purple Coin Ball is a ball with a Purple Coin inside it, appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is similar in appearance to the Star Ball and behaves in the very similar manner, in that Mario or Luigi can roll around on it when the player tilts .
The Purple Coin Ball appears only in the second mission of the Rolling Coaster Galaxy, Purple Coins on the Rainbow Road. Mario or Luigi must maneuver the Purple Coin Ball to the end of the course, collecting 100 Purple Coins as he goes. When he reaches the goal, the Purple Coin Ball shatters, releasing an extra Purple Coin within it for Mario or Luigi to collect.
