Weren't we not to add every update from the Dojo? I don't think a new Pokémon is big enough to be featured on the Main Page of MarioWiki. - 06:36, 10 September 2007 (EDT)

:A new Pokémon is just as important as an Assist Trophy, and we are putting a bit of emphasis on Assist Trophy (Not that it has gone on this Template yet), so I think they should be allowed on. Or, either both are allowed in this template, or neither.

It was only removed for online multiplayer, not the entire game. That should be said as well.

April Fools!
Time for April Fools Day 2014!
For April Fools Day, we need to have fake news (presumably good news that will get excitement) with links to pages that would be created, fake or bad trivia, bad poll, and a fake featured article. Please post some ideas below that can be used tomorrow! 18:36, 31 March 2014 (EDT)

I just found some interesting article:

<s>Can I put that in the news template?</s>

The third bullet point should read "Various Mii Fighter costumes have also been revealed, including ones for Geno and Ashley." 67.87.144.171 23:47, 24 December 2015 (EST)

Mario and the Warp Pipe seem to have been given a reference in the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympic games... --  00:56, 22 August 2016 (EDT)
:It's been covered on the References in live-action television page. Remember that the News template is for new media/game releases and announcements.

Archive?
Is there a place where old News Archives are stored? If so, can we have the link on the template, cause I don't see why not? 23:27, 23 August 2016 (EDT)

The link to the Nintendo Direct video is private. Should it be "unlinked"?<br>

Super Nintendo World has commenced construction
On June 9, 2017, Nintendo and Universal Theme Parks had a 'Ground Breaking Ceremony' (the start of construction), and the Mario Kart ride will be one of the attractions. So far, Super Nintendo World has a Mario-themed area, so it's Mario-related news. Video of the ceremony, with Miyamoto as a special guest. 08:44, 8 June 2017 (EDT)
Chronology
Recently, Time Turner has insisted that the news of Mario Segale's death should be more recent than the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct simply because the former was officially announced after the latter and despite the latter actually taking place after the former. My question is, are there any further opinions concerning which goes first? So far, only Doc von Schmeltwick agrees with me. 10:37, 2 November 2018 (EDT)
:I can see it both ways, although I think it would make more sense for more recent news to go to the top (so in this case, Segale's death would be first, and the Smash direct would come afterwards), otherwise it might get buried and people won't notice because the most "recent" item is something they've already seen. Granted, this situation is very rare and probably won't happen again. -- 16:32, 10 November 2018 (EST)

Mario nintendo news
Shouldn't it say "Super Mario" and Nintendo news on the front page? Mario is the character, and Super Mario is the games. 108.181.24.243
:We prefer to keep it brief. It's fine referring to the character. 21:15, October 10, 2023 (EDT)
