#Baby Luigi All rats are rodents but not all rodents are rats. The term "rodent" describes exactly as Randombomb-omb has said, it's a category. Rats are much more specific than rodents therefore it doesn't merit a change.

#LeftyGreenMario I wouldn't categorize Gnawties, Conker, Ms. Mowz, Flurl the Squirrel, and Fuzz under rats because that's an insult to them.

#Walkazo - Per my comment, and the other voters who have pointed out that "rat" is not actually an accepted umbrella term for Rodentia as a whole.

::Except this proposed name isn't consistent with the other ones. "Cat", "dog" and "pig" all work as casual umbrella terms, but "rat" is not a proper way to refer to rodents as a whole. Given how Rodentia includes such non-rat-like critters as beavers and porcupines, it's not intuitive at all and would just confuse people. - 23:29, 17 September 2013 (EDT)
