Turtle Zone[1] is the second level of the Turtle Zone in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. This level takes place inside a sunken, abandoned submarine.
Layout
Near the start of the level is a Koopa Troopa. Mario must then go underwater. To the left are two ? Blocks. To the right is a Honebōn and a Shark. Below are some Unibō. To the left of this is a ? Block near a Turtle Cannon. To the right is another ? Block and another Turtle Cannon. Above the ? Block are two Hidden Blocks, one of which contains a Fire Flower. Mario must head upward, avoiding more Unibō with two ? Blocks along the way. Once he reaches the surface, Mario is given the choice of going either left or right.
If Mario goes to the left, there is a Koopa Troopa and a narrow passage only Small Mario can go through. He must then get back into the water and go up the pipe. Here, there are a few more Unibō, Skewers on the ceiling which move up and down, a Honebōn, and a shark. Finally, there is the secret level exit door Mario can enter to unlock Himitsu no Course 6.
If Mario chooses to go right, he will find five ? Blocks and a Koopa Troopa. He must then go down and back into the water, then get past a couple of Unibō, with two ? Blocks nearby. Once he reaches the bottom, he can go left and get past the dropping Skewers to reach an area with six ? Blocks. Here, he is able to get a Fire Flower, providing he hit the Hidden Block containing it.
As Mario continues to head right, there are two ? Blocks and two Turtle Cannons, with three ? Blocks at the end. He must then get out of the water. To the left is a ? Block which contains a Star. To the right is a tunnel with five Koopa Troopas, with the Mid-Point Bell at the top.
Mario must then get back into the water and enter the pipe. He must then navigate a section with pipes, two Unibō, and one Skewer. Along the way is a ? Block containing a Moneybag. There is also a block with a Fire Flower atop it, with a Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Heart next to it. After the last pipe are a few more Skewers and two platforms with Spike Traps above them that Mario can use to reach the bell atop the goal, completing the level.
