The Smile Meter is the health meter of the Baby Yoshis in the game Yoshi's Story. The Smile Meter also represents the Yoshi's current mood. The meter is depicted as a smiling flower. When a Baby Yoshi takes damage, the flower's face will slowly change from a Smile to a Frown. If the Yoshi is hit one more time while the Smile Meter is frowning, the dinosaur will faint and be captured by Baby Bowser's Toadies.
A flower that resembles the Smile Meter appeared in the minigame Loves Me...? from Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros..
