Super Mario Bros.: Trapped in the Perilous Pit was a Golden Look-Look Book written by Jack C. Harris. The 24 page book was illustrated by Kim Ellis and published by the Western Publishing Company in July, 1989[1][2]. It features Mario & Co. and it is aimed at very young readers.

Plot

Mario and Luigi are repairing the palace's pipes while King Koopa traveled down the corridor intending to kidnap Princess Peach. Mario tries to fight King Koopa off by using his Super Mario form, but is defeated. Luigi saves Mario from King Koopa by using a Fire Flower.
