Images

Hey, thanks for uploading an image. Keep in mind the file should at least have a category and license, the aboutfile is optional but preferred. Using the file you uploaded as an example, it would look like this:

==Summary==
{{image-quality}}
{{aboutfile
|1=A boss battle with the Chargin' Chuck Corps.
}}
[[Category:Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Images]]
==Licensing==
{{game-screenshot}}

For more information, you can look at our image use policy and category pages, or let me know if you have any questions.    18:34, November 23, 2020 (EST)

Please make sure you're copy/pasting the code above when you're uploading next time. I would suggest using Special:Upload to upload instead as this is easier.   Mario JC 19:59, November 26, 2020 (EST)

Also, please avoid uploading multiple near-identical images with very minor differences (like the frames of the Mario Bros.). Only one is necessary.   Mario JC 20:21, November 26, 2020 (EST) Template:Personal-image-warning You have uploaded too many personal images. Please choose five to keep and mark the rest for deletion. (Use {{delete}}) -- DarkNight  23:38, November 26, 2020 (EST)

@DarkNight, the proper template for this is Template:Personal-image-warning, I'll change that. But yes, DumbellaVanderquack, you have too many personal images, the max amount is five. Please select the ones you want to keep and ones you want to delete. If you want to place more images in your userspace, you can directly link them by uploading them to an image hosting website.  Ray Trace(T|C) 00:01, November 27, 2020 (EST)

It has caught my attention again that you've been uploading excess personal images despite the reminder. You have 17 personal images, you are allowed only five as per our personal image policy.

Please select and choose five images to keep. If none are choosen for you, they will be deleted at random. If you upload any more personal images, you will receive a warning. I'll also remind you again that you are free to upload images to an image hosting site such as imgur and externally link them from there.  Ray Trace(T|C) 04:34, November 27, 2020 (EST)

These are not my personal images, these are my article images. So, they will not be deleted.

Most of the images you uploaded are fan-made and are not missional to the wiki, and they are intended for your userspace. You are free to edit your userspace as your own article (though you are encouraged to edit mainspace articles), but excess images will be deleted by our sysops.  Ray Trace(T|C) 04:42, November 27, 2020 (EST)

Actually, the user has 18 personal images, because of File:Mario & Luigi- Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey Group Photo.png   Wynn Liaw 06:08, November 27, 2020 (EST)

One other thing that should be mentioned is that we don't allow fan-modified images in main articles, like the Mario Bros. artwork without Starlow in them.   Nightwicked Bowser

I counted again, and found out that the user has 27 personal images! Files missed:

I did this to ensure that no one misses anything.   Wynn Liaw 11:57, November 27, 2020 (EST)

Well you have a week to decide which 5 of those 27 images you want to keep, otherwise 22 of them will be deleted at random. And please don't upload any more.   Nightwicked Bowser

Also, can you tell us where you got this image in question from? It looks like it was possibly edited out of a gameplay screenshot. If I'm not mistaken, if that is also fan made and/or not "official" from a game installment, that qualifies for deletion too. --M. C. - Profile | Talk Page

They are my article user images, not personal images.

If the images are solely being uploaded for use on your userpage/userspace, they count as personal images regardless of what you want to call them. You are allowed a maximum of five images for your "user article", and any others will be deleted- this will be done at random if you don't mark up some specific ones to be deleted. I'd recommend you take a look at this page if you haven't done so already. Also, you need to be making more edits to mainspace pages (i.e. not your userpage/personal images/user talk page), as continuing to make excessive userspace edits will eventually lead to some kind of official warning. BBQ Turtle (talk) 18:12, November 27, 2020 (EST)
  This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (Failure for heeding to the personal image reminder, uploading more images despite being told to stop) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Please stop uploading more personal images. By the way, Template:Mariowiki-image purpose is to be used for namespace "MarioWiki:", which includes proposals, featured article banners, site logo. It is not intended for your userpage. Failure to abide by continuously uploading more personal images will lead you to a Last Warning, and after that, you risk getting banned from the wiki. Please delete your excess personal images so only five remains.  Ray Trace(T|C) 20:16, November 27, 2020 (EST)

You cannot delete other user messages on the page, nor are you allowed to delete warnings just a heads up.  Ray Trace(T|C) 20:36, November 27, 2020 (EST)

Please stop removing the {{personal-image}} tag for images that you've uploaded solely for your userpage. As they are only used for this purpose, they are treated as your personal images. Otherwise, mark it for deletion.   Mario JC 20:49, November 27, 2020 (EST)

Any self-edited artwork with a character removed is not allowed on galleries and articles and will also be treated as personal images for the time being.   Mario JC 21:04, November 27, 2020 (EST)

I may not be an admin myself, but I should say this: even after you remove your personal images, the warning will not be removed. Warnings given from actual admins stand permenantly. And you go to MarioWiki:Appeals to request your warning to be appealed, you don't put that here.   Nightwicked Bowser

Adding on to this, you need to focus less on your userpage. Your amount of userspace edits account for 60.33% of your total edits, and that number needs to come down. While I'm glad you want us to get to know you better, the Super Mario Wiki is not a social media site. You are free to join our forums and introduce yourself there, but your userpage editing here needs to come to an end until you have more helpful contributions.    23:01, November 27, 2020 (EST)

Because you have continued editing your userpage and spent no real time editing anything else, your privilege to do so has been revoked for two weeks. Please spend more time editing main articles. Waiting out the period just to continue editing your userpage again (whether you edited anything else or not) will result in further warnings.    23:56, November 30, 2020 (EST)

Re: File Requests

Okay, I've uploaded two images. I'm going to upload more when I have time, but I've been kind of busy lately. Scrooge200 (talk)   00:01, December 1, 2020 (EST)

Those are the two closest screenshots I've taken. Sorry if they aren't exactly what you want. Scrooge200 (talk)   20:50, December 1, 2020 (EST)
