Pūko when she looks like a Rocky Wrench in volume 46 of Super Mario-kun
Pūko when she resembles a Rocky Wrench in the first chapter of volume 46

Pūko (テレちん) is a Monty Mole (and possibly a Rocky Wrench as well) that is a member of AKG48 that appears in volume 46 of Super Mario-kun.

She first appears in the first chapter of volume 46, where she is shown alongside the other AKG48 members. She resembles a Rocky Wrench due to having goggles and also what appears to be hair on the back of her head.

She later reappears in the fourth chapter as the main host of the Mogura Matsuri (もぐらまつり, Mole Festival), now resembling a Monty Mole. She introduces herself to Mario, Luigi and Toad and gives them a tour around the place. She shows them carnival-like games such as Choropū ga tataku gēmu (チョロプーがたたくゲーム), a game where Monty Moles whack you, and a target practice game that uses a Bazooka. She then shows Mario and his friends the food, which consists of various enemies (mostly aquatic ones). After putting a Spike Eel in a pot, a Morty Mole comes and starts destroying the festival due to it being in his home. Mario and the Morty Mole start fighting, with Pūko cheering for Mario. But Mario loses the fight. Pūko then gives Mario a super-metal, invincible power suit handed down for generations in the Monty Mole family. When Mario puts it on, he feels extremely uncomfortable and takes it off immediately. As Mario continues to get beaten up by the Morty Mole, Luigi wins two Statue Leaves from a raffle that a Monty Mole wearing glasses was holding. Pūko then tells the Mario Bros. that the Statue Leaves could defeat the Morty Mole and cheers for them to use it. She gives them a Goomba to eat before they fight the Morty Mole. After Mario and Luigi defeat the Morty Mole with their statue forms, she thanks them for saving the festival, and gives them both a cooked Fuzzy as a reward.

Trivia

  • Pūko is one of the very few characters in Super Mario-kun to be established in a previous chapter/volume to return later in another chapter/volume.
