In the Super Mario series, many elevators appear, and only Super Mario 3D Land is listed here. The elevators are exactly what? Bro Hammer (TalkCont) 19:12, 1 November 2011 (EDT)

This should be moved to Lift

This should be moved to Lift because "Lift" is the current name for these. For example, in Tipping Stars and Mario Maker. --Hiccup (talk) 15:55, 17 February 2016 (EST)

I moved it to Lifts, but elevators should be a separate page.  Luigi86101   19:15, 16 March 2016 (EST)

Should it be split into separate articles?

Should Rail Lift and Flimsy Lift be split? Which ones should be split? --  FanOfYoshi 15:06, June 1, 2019 (EDT)

I'm still expecting an answer. --  FanOfYoshi 02:01, July 13, 2019 (EDT)
Please be patient. Regardless, I agree about splitting the lifts. They all are different. The only one I am unsure about are the Cloud Lifts, as in SMM2 and even SM3DW they act the same as regular Lifts. Doomhiker (talk)  08:41, July 17, 2019 (EDT)

Split Flimsy Lift from this article

See comments above. Flimsy Lifts are distinct from regular Lifts due to their trademark behavior of falling once the player stands on one, so I believe it should be split from this article. See my sandbox for how this kind of article would work.

Oh, and if you're wondering, I'll cover the split of Rail Lift in a separate proposal. Since it's far more widespread of an object than Flimsy Lift, I still need time to draft it in my sandbox.

Support

  1. Archivist Toadette (talk) Per proposal.
  2. The Mansion (talk) Per proposal. I recall this being brought up with Cloud Lift. If that deserves its own article, I feel, this one does as well. The reason they're kept together at the moment is because (especially in older games, such as SMB and SMB3) a lot of Lifts appear as regular Lifts while functioning as Flimsy Lifts. Nowadays, most of them are blue while regular Lifts remain yellow, thus making them more discernible? Not sure about Rail Lift, Pulley Lift, Count Lift, etc, though.
