- In a Nintendo Direct presentation broadcast on February 8, 2023, Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass was confirmed to release in the spring of 2023, adding the new Yoshi's Island course and Birdo as a playable character (pictured). Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games, including Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Wario Land 3, and Mario Kart: Super Circuit, were also announced to release on the Nintendo Switch via the newly-introduced Game Boy - Nintendo Switch Online and Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online services.
