Madame Bwahstrella, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Barren Gateway is a Quest in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located on the planet Barrendale Mesa. It is a gateway challenge by Madame Bwahstrella. It is located at Madame Bwahstrella's location, which is close to the "Barrendale Meteorite Flag" Teleport Flag at the bottom right corner of the map.

The heroes can enter a battle where there are lots of enemies to defeat. These enemies match the heroes' current level. The heroes must defeat all of the enemies to win. After doing so, the Quest will be complete, and the heroes are awarded both a Planet Coin and a Skill Prism. The heroes can talk to Madame Bwahstrella again to try another battle.

The battle is always random, but the heroes must defeat all of the enemies to win. There are a lot of enemies. The battlefield also varies in size and shape, and it could be large and open, or a narrow path. There can be barrels containing various Super Effects scattered around the battlefield. Almost every enemy can appear in the battle, although not all at once. The only enemies that cannot appear are Riptides and Spellraisers. The enemies match the player's level, and can reach higher than the limit of Barrendale Mesa. After all of the enemies are defeated, the battle is won.

The enemies that appear have resistances that work well with other enemies in the same battle (for example, Oozers, Squashers, and Depleters can appear in the same battle).
