Variants

Ring Zok Troopers are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are part of Zokket's army. They are first fought on Heatfreeze Island, but are commonly found in the Brrrning Sea Great Lighthouse Island, Gulchrock Sea Great Lighthouse Island, and Fortress Zokket, where they fire electrical rings at Mario and Luigi if they are near. Ring Zok Troopers are blue-green in color and have glowing arms. Their head is used as the symbol for the Anti-Zokket Specialist Battle Plug.

After Reclusa reawakens, all Ring Zok Troopers become infected with Glohm, which turns them into Glohm Ring Zok Troopers.

Battle

In battle, Ring Zok Troopers have two standard attacks, but depending on what other enemies are with them, they can gain three more attacks:

  • By themselves, Ring Zok Troopers can fire rings at Mario or Luigi of varying heights before sending a huge ring at them. This attack is avoided by jumping. The rings (including the large ring) can be jumped on damaging the attacking Ring Zok Trooper and ending the attack.
  • When alone, they can also create a large spinning ring around a character, before it closes in on them. This attack must be counterattacked by using the hammer, which the targeted character has to strike the dark part of the ring, damaging the attacking enemy and preventing damage to the brother.
  • If a Spike Zok Trooper is present, the Ring Zok Trooper can create a big ring, which the Spike Zok Trooper uses to push to a character. This attack is avoided by jumping. The Spike Zok Trooper can be countered. Sometimes during the attack, the Spike Zok Trooper stops and moves to the other character before charging at them.
  • If there is a Zokkarang Trooper, the Ring Zok Trooper can create light blocks above Mario and Luigi, while the Zokkarang Trooper spins, preparing to throw the Zokkarang at a character. The Bros. must jump to dodge. The blocks must be broken by striking them as to allow the attack to be avoided. The thrown Zokkarang will fly to the other character if the first one dodges it. If both Mario and Luigi avoid the attack, the Zokkarang will strike the attacking enemies.
  • If a Jet Zok Trooper is also in the battle, the Ring Zok Trooper can create glass panels above both Bros. while the Jet Zok Trooper flies above both to drop a spike ball on each character. The spike ball destroys all glass panels before landing on Mario and Luigi. Hammers are used to defend against the attack. Spike balls that are countered will be sent at the attacking Ring Zok Trooper.
