Quicksand Cache is a 1-vs-3 coin-collecting minigame found in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party Superstars.
OverviewEdit
The minigame opens with a coin falling into the quicksand, followed by Baby Bowser (Bowser Jr. in Mario Party Superstars) attempting to retrieve it before sinking into the center.
The solo player is dressed in a Bowser Suit and controls the quicksand, drawing coins and coin bags toward them. The team players run around on quicksand, trying to collect coins while avoiding the center. If a player falls into the center of the quicksand, they are eliminated but still keep any collected coins. In the Mini-Game Coaster of Mario Party 2, the human player is part of the team, and they try to collect ten coins to win in Normal difficulty, or 15 in Hard difficulty, even if they are eliminated afterward. In Mario Party Superstars, like other 1-vs-3 minigames, the team's coins are divided between them at the end.
It costs 150 coins to buy the minigame from Woody in Mario Party 2.
