Template:DKJB Kingdom The Apple Kingdom is the fourth kingdom linked to the D Barrel which appears in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. The kingdom is located in a underground canyon. The Apple Kingdom can be accessed by collecting three or more Crests. It is the dominion of Turret Tusk. Donkey Kong travels through this kingdom to fight this powerful, elephant-like boss. At the end of every level in this kingdom, he must eat a giant apple.

Levels

Massive Canyon

Massive Canyon is the first area of the the Apple Kingdom. The level takes place in a deep, dark canyon. Donkey Kong uses his Wall Jump ability to reach inaccessible areas. He also uses Banande Lions to fire himself to different areas. Helper Monkeys aid Donkey Kong throughout this stage as well, throwing him to the end of the level. Many uncommon objects return in this level, such as mushrooms that grow when a sound wave is sent at them. Before completing the level, Donkey Kong also fights an Army impeding his progress.

Level Layout

This level starts out in a dark cave. Much of the beginning is simply a straight pathway, and there are some bananas around it. Many bat enemies also flood the roof of this cave. As Donkey Kong travels farther into the cave, he encounters some heavy rocks rolling towards him. He must jump over them to avoid being damaged. Near the cave's exit is a Gale Hawg, who blocks the path of Donkey Kong. Once it is defeated, the ape can find a wall to climb up with a wall jump. Mushrooms also fill this part of the cave, and if the Kong sends a sound wave at them, they grow large very quickly. After Donkey Kong climbs his way out of the remaining part of the cave, with the help of a few Helper Monkeys and his wall jumping abilities, he finds himself in a barren desert.

There are enemies around the cave's exit, as well as some more Helper Monkeys. The monkeys throw Donkey Kong to a Banande Lion, which flings him to another on a far-away platform to the right. This Banande Lion shoots him to a Helper Monkey, who helps the ape progress more by throwing him to a third Banande Lion. Another Helper Monkey and Banande Lion follow after these, and the ape is soon sent to a wall, which he must climb with his wall jumping abilities. Once he makes his way to the top, he meets the level's mini-boss, who is an Army. The foe must be defeated to progress. After the creature is bested, a giant apple appears on a nearby tree branch. If Donkey Kong bites into it, the level ends.

Ice Warren

Ice Warren is the second area of the Apple Kingdom. This level takes place in a frozen cavern. Freezing bats attack Donkey Kong here, but he dispatches them with his clap attack. Many Helper Monkeys assist Donkey Kong to progress and get to inaccessible areas, as they do in many other levels. Throughout much of the level, though, the ape slides down slippery surfaces and collects the many Banana Bunches that fill the level. At the end of the level, Hoofer the Wildebeest helps Donkey Kong jump over large gaps in a bonus game. Each jump nets Donkey Kong ten bonus beats. After completing the level, Donkey battles Turret Tusk.

Level Layout

Ice Warren begins with two stair platforms leading to an icy, straight pathway. There are some ice bats on the tops of the area to attack Donkey Kong here. A small slide of ice is just beyond here, and the ape must slide down it while plowing through snowmen. Blooms can be found just before finding the edge of the cliff, and luckily, an icy Banande Lion is at the end of it. This plant can fling the Kong to a Helper Monkey, who is able to swing him up to more Blooms and Helper Monkeys. Donkey Kong is eventually sent to another small slide, which is too icy for him to stand on. When he gets to the bottom of this slide, he can find a small, open area with enemies, Helper Monkeys, and more Blooms. The ape must use his wall jumping moves and the Helper Monkeys to grab the Blooms and reach the top of the area, where there is another slippery surface. As Donkey Kong slides down this, he runs into many Banana Bunches, most of which are trapped in bubble and need to be collected by a clap grab. A Helper Monkey also throws the ape over some enemies as he travels down, as does another one located farther down the area.

Donkey Kong is soon thrown into the air by a Helper Monkey, landing in a lower area filled with two large, spiky creatures, jutting out of the top and bottom of the cavern. Once he passes them, though, he can activate a large, dragon-like device that sends him to a new area. Here, he meets another Helper Monkey, as well as a huge chicken enemy. The foe is in his way, so it must be defeated at all costs. Once Donkey Kong passes it, he finds a thin passage containing another spiky creature. If he sends a sound wave at it, it hides in a small crack in the ice, keeping it out of the way. There is another slide by this enemy, and as the ape heads down it, he comes up to many more snowmen, along with a single Helper Monkey. Soon, Donkey Kong should make his way to some small, yellow fairies. If a sound wave is sent to them, they form orange trampolines, which the ape can bounce on to travel faster. There are only a few of them however, and once they are gone, the ape must continue to slide down without assistance. A few spikes are in the way as he journeys down this area, as well as some more sharp, gray creatures. Donkey Kong must avoid each of these foes and eventually find his way into a small gap to land on Hoofer the Wildebeest. While riding on the Jungle Buddy, the ape grabs the giant apple to complete the level.
