Skateboard Scamper is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party and Mario Party 2.

Overview

In Mario Party 2

In the Mario Party version, players have to quickly skate across the bridge and avoid falling into the lava pit that forms behind them by repeatedly pressing  . They also have to jump over the Thwomps in the way by pressing  . The layout of the minigame's hazards and Coins remains the same on every playthrough. At first, there is a limit on the top speed at which the player moves; however, this limit is removed in the ending section when the camera pans behind the players. The first player to reach the goal wins. If all players fall into the lava, a draw occurs.

The Mario Party 2 version takes inside of a haunted house. It begins with a Boo escaping from a photograph and then chasing the players. As players are being chased after, they must also watch out for vertically moving sections of the floor and steps. The first player to reach the window wins, as they let the sunlight in to eliminate the Boo. If the Boo catches every player, the minigame ends in a draw. In the Mini-Game Coaster, the human player must reach the light source first to win.

In both versions, players can collect Coins, which are kept even if they have been eliminated. Mario Party's version features one coin bag for each player to collect, while Mario Party 2's version replaces it with five individual Coins scattered throughout the course.

In Mario Party, it costs 200 Coins to buy at the Mini-Game House when it becomes available for purchase, while in Mario Party 2, it can be purchased from Woody for 50 Coins.
