Sub-Director's Notes

Twentytwofiftyseven (talk)

Well, Gabumon has tragically died, and as his next-of-kin I've inherited his job as Sub-Director of The 'Shroom. I hope I can deliver a quality of work that lives up to his legacy. Also, if anyone reading wants to volunteer to be the blood sacrifice to raise him as a zombie, get in touch.

Closing Statement

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to another issue of The 'Shroom, my fellow readers! Super Mario Bros. here, wrapping up another one of the fine productions that we release each month.

I would like to start with thanking Edofenrir (talk) for his exemplary job as Sub-director. As is probably known by now, he is no longer with The 'Shroom due to unfortunate internet service issues he has been dealing with. Whether it be contributing sections, editing all of the content before it is posted to ensure its quality, contributing to staff discussions, or making wonderful artwork for our projects, Edofenrir has made his mark on The 'Shroom and has been a great colleague when it comes to making issues. Furthermore, more than anything, Edofenrir is a great friend to me and many others in our community which is really what leads me to be sad about his circumstances. His humor, wit, intelligence, kindness, and artistic style will all be missed while he is gone. On behalf of The 'Shroom, I wish him the best while he is away and that we hope he makes a return as soon as he can. Due to these circumstances, Twentytwofiftyseven (talk), our previous Sub-director, has agreed to help us out during this time and is picking up the position once more. It is always great working with him as well, and I look forward to a good collaboration for the next few months.

I would like to thank everybody that took part in the Poll Chairperson Election. Toad85 (talk) and New Super Mario (talk) ran a pretty good campaign in the end, and I would like to thank them for participating in the process. Tucayo (talk) and I plan on maintaining the Poll Committee in a respectable fashion for the next year: our post-election speech can be found here. Be sure to read it and take part in the committee and the poll selection process!

Thank you to those who have contributed to the Feedback Survey! A more detailed response can be found here, although I would like to mention that I am still fascinated that we got 36 responses! This will surely help us be able to plan out the next few months and what we will do in that time— thank you all for staying involved and committed to this effort!

We have had some updates to the Subscription process. In addition to the old process, we now have a way for forum users to get notifications for updates as well as a form that guests can fill out in order to receive e-mail updates from the staff! We hope to expand on the subscription project soon and be able to offer even more services for our readers. More can be read here.

Finally, we are starting to implement a major overhaul of the Music & Artwork Team. From now on, the team will be called "Palette Swap." Additionally, several of the sections have gotten renames, repetitive sections have been cut, new original sections have been added, and some have even been moved in from other teams! In addition to that, we hope to update the team logo by next month and even introduce a new theme for the team. Even then, this will not be the full extend of our changes: we plan to do a lot more in order to make the team the artistic center of our newspaper project.

Keep an eye on the forum on August 9th 2013... This is when the anniversary celebrations are occurring and when the Userpedia and 'Shroom Awards (both of which we have heavily promoted) take place! We want to see you there! Also, please check back on August 17th, 2013 for the next issue. We have some cool things in store, so you will definitely not want to miss out.

Until next time,

Super Mario Bros. (talk)
