I have some rules on my talk page as listed below:

  1. Don't go replacing content with a negative message like: I HATE YOU!
  2. If you're sending a friend request you must also put the reason of why we should be friends because you should only really talk to me about wiki-related matters.
  3. All new messages must go at the bottom of the page, you can do this by pressing the + icon next to the edit icon.
  4. Don't blank my talk page.
  5. Don't Spam. (That's obvious)
  6. Unless you know me in person (which is unlikely) don't wish me a Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas (but feel free to do so on the forums).
  7. Don't make conclusive spelling errors on my talk page.
  8. Don't put false block or warning templates on my talk page.
  9. Only talk to me about wiki-related stuff or other cool stuff if you talk to me about junk or weird stuff I'm not a fan of or otherwise have no opinion on it, I won't respond.
  10. Please paragraph you sentences I don't like them right next to my messages and it gets really boring having to do it myself.
  11. Once THIS talkpage reaches 40 sections, don't edit it I'll archive it others may vary though.

Everything else is completely acceptable so message me anything you want.

Also one more thing, I will normally answer questions here but if it is urgent I will answer them on your talk page.

While I appreciate the support vote for Shadow Mario, you need to include a reason as to why you're supporting it. Unlike regular nominations, where no support reason is necessary, denominations require you to include a valid reason. A simple "per proposer" is fine, but make sure to keep that in mind. Sticker Star & Color Splash's genres

They are not role-playing games. Here are the features of an RPG, taken from the Wikipedia article about it:

  • Story and setting: The story and world are important elements of the game.
  • Exploration and quests: You talk to NPCs, solve their requests, get things in return that make the game easier for you, etc.
  • Items and inventory: You have items and/or gear that you use to be stronger, heal, defeat enemies...
  • Character actions and abilities: Each character has a distinct class of abilities that give them different characteristics in the field and/or in battle and/or in sidequests.
  • Experience and levels: Fighting gives you experience points which let you level up.
  • Combat: There is a distinction between field action and battle action.
  • Interface and graphics: You must go through menus to attack, heal, etc.

Paper Mario 1 and 2 follow all of these characteristics. Super Paper Mario, being a platformer RPG, lacks the "combat" and "interface" parts but gets everything else right. Sticker Star only has the "inventory" part (because everything is a 1-use item) and the "combat" part (turn-based battles). As such, it is an action-adventure game with RPG elements, not a RPG. Color Splash is not a RPG for the same reasons. Koopalmier (talk) 05:03, 25 August 2016 (EDT)

I love Fawful. I can't believe they literally abandoned him in the new M&L games. Actually, I lost all interest in Dream Team specifically because Fawful isn't in it, haha! I mean, really, he's the best character.

Box arts

Hello, regards of what i said, there's no need for more than one box art on the infobox unless it relevant and especially would cause a unnecessary expansion on the infobox. For example the Mario Strikers Charged two box art cause of regional differences.

RE:RE:Laddie

First of all, pulling info from another wiki doesn't exactly qualify as a good source of info. Second, the info on the Paper Mario Wikia is wrong anyway, as the coding for the pixel shows that it was originally meant to use Mario's "flip" power, but was cut when Mario gained that power himself.
Is there anything in the E3 trailer that shows his name? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:08, 29 August 2016 (EDT)

That's... not exactly good info. Looking around, various sources say that, while it sure looks like a ladder, that doesn't appear to be the case. Most say it was supposed to use now-Mario's flipping ability while others say it's an early version of Carrie. The only place I've heard the name "Laddie" is from you and that Paper Mario wiki, who's page is unsourced.
There really is no true way of knowing what the pixel did (though it's coding refers to the flip ability) or what's it's name is/was. For right now, everything mentioned is unofficial and are just rumors.
Also, you forgot to sign your comment on my page :P Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:57, 29 August 2016 (EDT)

re:Sorry

It's fine you apologized, but the staff has noticed you have a bad habit of giving official warnings when a simple message would've sufficed. Warnings are for major offenses and when someone does repeadetly does something after being told to knock it off. If you can conceivably tell someone "Hey, did you know you have to put the source in the article itself? Here's how you do it...", it's a much better to just leave a message without ressorting to the use of warning templates first.

It's great you want to help, but I recommend looking into contributing in more substantial and less negative ways. --Glowsquid (talk) 09:16, 3 September 2016 (EDT)

RE:Cherbil

My main gripe is that it's unsourced. I don't mind so much what it looks like (however inappropriate it may be), but it's unconfirmed that the Cherbil was based off of a butt. One can also assume that its name is based on "gerbil". You get it? I'm not saying the info is wrong, just unsourced and speculative. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:47, 7 October 2016 (EDT)

Image Category Reminder

Hello, The RPG Gamer. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Superstar Saga enemy POW

Hi! Kinda curious how exactly you obtained the enemies' POW stats from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, especially if they're not listed in the Nintendo Power Player's Guide. Did you use Yoshi Magic to obtain them? --Zootalo (Talk)

Yes I did, also I think I heard the Nintendo Power guide only lists HP. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits) Sprite of Prince Dreambert from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. 18:10, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
Okay, but where exactly did you find the POW variables in Yoshi Magic? If you found them in the enemy attacks section, some enemies have more than one attack with different values. Do you plan to just leave only one value in the bestiary? If you look though the edit history, there was a reason why I removed the POW stats. --Zootalo (Talk)

RE: A question

No, unless the reverter (or the person uploading to a personal image file page that doesn't belong to them) has permission. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:06, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

Personal Images

The image was being used in articles long before it became your personal image. There is nothing that prevents use from personally using said image, but claiming it as your own and reverting it to a severely inferior version is unacceptable. If you want a personal image, use the one you uploaded. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:00, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

Again, you cannot claim an image that already existed on the wiki as your own and prevent others from modifying it, especially when you've been attempting to replace a high-quality image with a low-quality image. Work around that however you like, but you don't get to worsen articles just because you think an image looks neat. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 16:07, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

Re: Spelling mistake

Okay, thanks for pointing that out. But honestly a minor mistake like that isn't a big thing to worry about, and I don't really encourage you to inform users about spelling mistakes in their comments. Additionally, remember that you are not allowed to correct other people's comments anyway, it's not a matter of being rude.

Bowser's Inside Story

Hi Fawful's Minion The RPG Gamer, nice to see you back! I'd like to ask if you know about how the enemies drop items in Bowser's Inside Story. Do the bosses always drop the same set of items? Or do they always drop the accessories but leave the healing items randomly? And what about the ordinary but unskippable enemies such as the fake Toads "guarding" the Dark Star? I'm currently compiling an item list by location for this game as I did for Partners in Time and need help regarding to whether to include enemy items. Thanks. —A gossip-loving Toad (Talk) 01:39, 14 October 2016 (EDT)

Looks like you have a good memory :) There is this section Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story#Key items that's under construction. Do you happen to know the pause-menu description of the Puzzle Sacks? I'm also wondering whether the Hammers from the Trash Pit and the blue, red, and green keys in Peach's Castle count as key items for this purpose. Do they appear in the pause menu, too? —21:38, 15 October 2016 (EDT)

Re:How did I know

Reddragon19k (talk) has been extensively editing MarioWiki in 2009-2011, so I've known his editing style and voting style quite a bit. He votes in proposals by saying "I like this idea! Per all!" without meaningful inputs, the exact same thing AfternoonLight (talk) is doing. Redddragon also sockpuppeted during his block as well, so it also throws further light that AfternoonLight is a sock of Burningdragon who is in turn a sock of Reddragon. The only reason I haven't done anything sooner mostly because the vast majority of his edits aren't bad and were made in good faith; I mean usually when people sockpuppet, it's to evade bans and break more rules and cause more disturbances. Welcome Questions

  1. Does one have to be staff to welcome a new user with the template?
  2. Does the new user have to make at least one edit before they are welcomed? --Luigi 64DD.png (talk · edits) 15:14, 22 October 2016 (EDT)

"Toad Towns"

I see you went and added all those unconfirmed town areas to the Toad Town article, but do you have some concrete proof that they are Toad Town in those games? And by concrete proof, I mean sources like official guides. If you've got nothing, then in my opinion it should be undone. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 18:44, 24 October 2016 (EDT)

Okay, so the SMG and SMG2 Prima guides (which I'm personally really skeptical about as legit sources) say those games have Toad Town, but there's also some conflicting evidence. Primarily the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. (released in Japan) that says it's just the festival venue with no reference to Toad Town. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 09:11, 24 October 2016 (EDT)

Are you submitting screencaps or the actual URL of the image? I ask because I just replaced File:Twitter Charles Martinet.jpg with the real version of the image. 2,048x1,536 is a familiar resolution of yours, especially with File:Gnaw.png. Makes me think it is a screencap, which blurred both images even more. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 21:31, 24 October 2016 (EDT)

Dear The RPG Gamer,

It has come to our attention that you are currently in violation of the userspace policy (0). Please review the policy and abide by it, or else a warning will be issued. Thank you for your cooperation.

the list of usernames and sigs you have at the bottom of your userpage is not allowed per MarioWiki:Userspace, since that's technically a guestbook. additionally, you should've asked for permission from those users to put their sigs into your userpage; some people, such as myself, would prefer it if you would at least ask beforehand. Paper Mario: Color Splash

I noticed that you're now using a template to add information about the enemies in Paper Mario: Color Splash. In the case of the Koopalings, I would like to point out a pair of aspects that are not imemdiately obvious:

  • I already prepared animated idle poses for all the Koopalings, you can find them in the individual galleries; since in the case of the other RPG and RPG-like games this kind of images were used, I suggest to do so also for the Koopalings, if you need the poses with the weapons, I might be able to prepare them for you in a day
    • Even when using the idle poses, I think that the introductory images are to be kept for now, as a pair of them are actually directly derived from the 2015 hand-drawn artwork, used also in the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros., showing what is the likely origin of the appearance of the paper Koopalings as a whole (mainly this kind of artwork, with a few fixes for Lemmy)
  • As you probably already know, just like in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the defense in Paper Mario: Color Splash is divisive, not subtractive: when you block, you halve the damage dealt to you, using half down rounding; the same thing happened in the predecessor, with the bosses having a similar defense system, even halving the damage two times (so you dealt a quarter of the damage to them), if you're using in-game data and find a defense of 2, this almost surely means that the damage is a quarter of the standard damage, which is indeed typical for bosses since Sticker Star; in the case of the predecessor the defense was reported as quarters any damage or halves any damage, so I'm now using a similar terminology of damage/4 and damage/2 along with the actual value

Finally, regarding the matter of reception, the problem is that the article cited clearly states that the fans complaining were a vocal minority (even showing that not all those who signed the petition actually think negatively of the game), so at the moment some fans is the nearest approximation I can think of this term, since vocal minority doesn't look to me as a term usable in the wiki.--Mister Wu (talk) 08:58, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
