- The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service launched on the Nintendo Switch's eShop, via either a free one week trial or for US $49.99 or US $79.99 for an annual individual or family plan respectively, in the Americas on October 25, 2021 at approximately 9:00 PM (EST) after some online maintenance and will launch in Japan, Europe, and Australia on October 26, 2021.
- The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model was released worldwide on October 8, 2021.
- In The Final "Mr. Sakurai Presents" on October 5, 2021, Sora (pictured) was revealed as the final DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as part of Challenger Pack 11.
- On September 28, 2021, Universal Parks & Resort and Nintendo announced the expansion for Super Nintendo World, themed to the Donkey Kong franchise, and is set to open in 2024.
