A standard Blooper.

Bloopers (also previously known as Bloobers) are squid-like creatures that are found in the water. There are many kinds of Bloopers, though the standard Blooper in Super Mario Bros. swims toward Mario in a lazy homing pattern. A Blooper will appear playable in Mario Party 8.

Game Appearances

Super Mario Bros.

Bloopers are some of the most resistant enemies in Super Mario Bros. They only appear in underwater levels, and will follow Mario relentlessly. They can only be defeated by a Fireball, which is ironic, since Bloopers are always fought in the water.

Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels featured a type of Blooper that could fly through the air the same way it swims through the water.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Super Mario Bros. 3 featured two new types of Bloopers; Blooper Nannies and Blooper Babies. The original Bloopers also appear in the same attack pattern they had in Super Mario Bros..

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Template:Smrpgenemy A Blooper Boss named King Calamari appeared in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Regular Bloopers also appeared as common enemies underwater in The Sea and the Sunken Ship.

Paper Mario

In Paper Mario, three large Bloopers appear in Toad Town's Sewers. Each one is guarding a Badge, or a similar treasure, and each one is optional.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Bloopers make an appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga in Oho Ocean Seabed. A new type of robotic Bloopers called Mecha-Blooper appear.

Super Mario Sunshine

Blooper reappear in Super Mario Sunshine. This would be the first game in which the Bloopers are able to stand on dry land and spit out goop. In fact, Bloopers only appear on dry land and are never seen underwater. Jellyfish Blooper make their first and only appearance in this game as well. Bloopers are also ridable. These don't attack Mario and are owned by Big Daddy. Green Bloopers are the slowest but best at steering. Yellow Bloopers have average speed and average steering. Purple Bloopers are the fastest but have terrible steering. They are only found in Ricco Harbor. Another big Blooper called Gooper Blooper also appears as a Boss.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

A Blooper appears as the second mandatory boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This Blooper's tentacles are blocking the way to Petalburg, and to get to the rosy town, mario has to hit them with his Hammer. This makes the Blooper angry, and it attacks Mario. During battle it hangs off the ceiling, but after a fair bit of damage has been delt to it it will fall to the ground. You can never see all of it, implying that it is much bigger than most regular Blooper's.

Although Blooper's do not appear as regular enemies in the game, they do appear in Bowser's underwater level. They are enemies that can simply be taken care of by (again ironically) breathing flames onto them. After Bowser gets out of the water and is talking to Kammy Koopa, he can be heard saying, "I Ate A Blooper"!.

Luigi also has a partner named Blooey, whom is a tough Blooper that Luigi accidentally threw into lava during his journey, thinking nothing of it. Blooey was afterward fried as a red, stiff blooper for, most likely, the rest of his life. Blooey supposedly will keep following Luigi around until he gets his revenge, he states.

Mario Kart DS

The Blooper is also used as a weapon in Mario Kart DS, where after launching it all the players who are currently in a higher rank than the player get a large ink blot on their screen, which obstructs the driving view of human opponents and causes CPU characters to swerve around on the track. If used while in first place, it can backfire and cause ink to block the driver's screen.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Bloopers appear as fairly rare enemies in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. In this game, they only appear under-water, so Yoshi can only face them when he is in Submarine form. They will simply float in the water, making them more like obstacles than actual enemies. They can be destroyed by one of the Sub-Marine's missiles.

Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Island DS features Bloopers appearing in early stages of World 3 along side Bullet Bill, Pirate Guy, Flopsy Fish, Lunge Fish, and Boss Bass.

Future Appearances

In Mario Party 8, a standard Blooper is going to appear playable. Not much is known about him, though.

Ultra Blooper

Ultra Blooper from Super Paper Mario.

An extremely large Blooper, so huge in fact it dwarfs others such as Gooper Blooper and Super Blooper in comparison, appears in one of the early screen shots of Super Paper Mario, conjecturally named Ultra Blooper.

Trivia

• A canceled type of Blooper were supposed to appear in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. These Bloopers were apparently Shroobified Bloopers and would've appeared in the Vim Factory.

Once you damage both it's tentacles it'll fall down... And then it's attack time! By the way, the tentacles each have 3 HP. Now relax and house on that slimy, nasty Blooper.
