Cappy's final design was colored white as he was meant to transform into various hats, and white was deemed a color able to fit all the different colors of the hats. He also makes a snarling or growling sound like Godzilla before speaking in his dialogue. Nintendo collaborated with the Monsterverse Godzilla who made its first appearance in 2014 to make the growl from Godzilla before roaring at the (Hokmuto) also known as Male Muto, or MUTO, which means Massive Unindentified Terrestrial Organism in 2014 sound familiar.
