Name[edit]

Shouldn't this page be titled "Hover Mechakoopa?" Last I checked, file names that were clearly never intended for player use (unlike unused multilang labels intended for use like Marimba Block) are a "last resort" tier of use, while the recent (and debateable in and of itself) "pieced-together conjecture" does not apply with the file name and JP name being completely different from each other, the JP name should have the priority? (Plus, Hover Mechakoopa describes it better.) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:57, January 24, 2024 (EST)

Looking at the pages, we should move the pages that use file names for this game to their Japanese guidebook names such as Moving Doors to Tabi. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 11:02, January 25, 2024 (EST)
FYI, there's something called "EnemyMechaKoopaMk3.pack.zs" in Pack/Actor and I'm not sure what it is. It could be that the "mark" thing was a remant of an earlier idea since the Model folder only has "EnemyMechaKoopaMk2.bfres.zs" with no sign of the third? Anywho, we should definitely change the pages that use the filenames to the guidebook names. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:55, January 26, 2024 (EST)
The English names are being released slowly but steadily. As seen here, we just got a "part 1" of the game's unique enemies, including a reconfirmation of Trompette (and a deconfirmation of Ghost Mario). I'd hold out a little longer for this series of articles to finish. No need to have policy changes over it just yet. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:14, January 26, 2024 (EST)
For the record, English internal names still take precedence over going to other languages as tier 6 of MarioWiki:Naming. There was a recent proposal that made it so other languages take priority when the filename is in Japanese, however. Until we get a higher priority source this should stay put, barring a change of policy. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:45, January 26, 2024 (EST)
