Uhh... I don't think we should make articles about implied Banjo characters...Knife (talk) 23:14, 25 March 2007 (EDT)

But it was in a Donkey Kong game manual, before Banjo even had a series. -- Sir Godus

Yeah, this is legit....barely. -- Son of Suns

Sorry to bring this up again, but I still don't see how Kazooie is relevant enough to the Mario series for a separate article. Let's see, she was first "referenced briefly" in an instruction booklet. Definitely not article-worthy. Then she made a cameo appearance in a beta version of a game. Not article-worthy either. Finally, she appeared in a comic which was so distant from the Mario series we decided to not make articles about characters only appearing there. Thus, I see no reason to keep this article, even if we take all of Kazooie's pseudo-appearances and references together. So, uh, am I missing something, or is this not article-worthy? Time Questions 06:44, 30 December 2008 (EST)

Time Q, I see exactly what you're saying. Kazooie has barely anything to do with the Mario series, certainly not worthy of an article. Personally, I don't think Banjo Kazooie even deserves an article, but that's just my opinion. Do you think it will require a Proposal to confirm deleting this page?

I don't really have an opinion on the whole Banjo/Conker issue, I'm just considering Kazooie's appearances and references in the Mario series, and I fail to see any relevant appearance. Uh, before taking a proposal into consideration, I think we should wait for more opinions here. Time Questions 06:59, 30 December 2008 (EST)

Yeah I guess we should wait a bit, but Talk pages of non-major articles hardly get any views, so it could be a very, very long wait. th_DimentioSigLeft.png Dom »» McTalk th_SMKDimentiobyStooben.png 07:03, 30 December 2008 (EST)

I agree with Time Q. Outside of the Banjo-Kazooie series, she is only implied in the Mario universe. And we decided not to make articles on not directly related subjects from crossover media such as N-Gang, Captain N, Captain Rainbow and so on which are too distant from the Mario series for covering all contents of them, unlike Smash Bros. or Itadaki Street DS. If the Banjo series article stays, this should be a redirect to it. --Grandy02 07:57, 30 December 2008 (EST)

Based on the recent Important Policy proposal that will likely pass, information about Kazooie would be legitimate and indeed would be expanded to include her Banjo series appearances. But given Kazooie's minor appearances in the main Mario series, it would be sensible to merge this info into the Banjo series article. (Bottles should probably be merged as well.) Also, the new policy would allow expanded coverage of cross-over series, including Captain N and others. Whether everything gets an article is subject to debate, but the content for such articles would be protected (i.e. we could have an article about "Characters in the Captain N series" instead of an article for every character in the show). And we don't need a proposal for this - talking about merges is exactly what talk pages are for. =) -- Son of Suns (talk)

Don't think Bottles should be merged, he appeared in one of the Mario comics we fully cover. --Grandy02 14:27, 30 December 2008 (EST)
Oh okay. So Bottles was in a Mario comic and Kazooie was in an N-Gang comic? Am I getting that correct? -- Son of Suns (talk) P.S. The new policy will fully cover all these series, although that does not mean all the content will have articles.
Yes, they were. Do you mean with everything also Captain Rainbow, SSX on Tour and NBA Street V3? --Grandy02 15:30, 30 December 2008 (EST)
Thanks. Captain Rainbow would be a crossover franchise (like Super Smash Bros., except with the nobodies of Nintendo), so content from the game would be allowed. SSX and NBA Street were pre-established franchises, so the Mario references would be cameos, and only information about the Mario-subject cameos would be allowed. -- Son of Suns (talk)

Why not merge?[edit]

I just saw that the Delete template was added to the page, and it feels sad to see it go, so I was thinking, why not just merge with the info on the Banjo page and turn the both of them into a "Banjo & Kazooie" group page? For now it's a disambiguation page, but it could be turned into a group page instead. They are a duo that are basically always seen together similar to Dribble & Spitz and Kat & Ana, which are merged together in group pages. Banjo did appear solo in Diddy Kong Racing, but after that they're basically always together, and even then, Kazooie was mentioned in Diddy Kong Racing's manual, so I feel like it would make sense to merge them as a group page instead of just deleting it entirely. --Metalex123 (talk) 18:18, May 31, 2026 (UTC)

The only reason Banjo has a page at all is because of Diddy Kong Racing, his only substantial Mario series appearance, and also the only time he's been seen without Kazooie. For a comparison, Blinky could be considered inseperable from the other 4 ghosts, and is treated as such in Smash in much the same way Banjo is, but he only has a page because of his solo appearance in Mario Kart Arcade GP. Pooka and Fygar are a similar situation. --BubzieBobkat (talk) 18:13, June 2, 2026 (UTC)
